I created a peaceful and functional retreat by designing a secondary building adjacent to the main house in this seaside escape in Maine. It was completely transformed into an extra bedroom and hang out area. The A-frame structure was an ideal foundation for this project.
With areal views of the ocean the space allowed me to highlight the natural woodtones and enhance the connection to nature. I incorporated accents inspired by the family's heritage and seamlessly blended organic decor such as driftwood, natural textiles and earthy hues.
The space is thoughtfully divided creating an open concept approach including the sleeping area and comfortable seating zone for relaxing or watching tv.
This seaside escape room now functions as an extra space to house the overflow of guests from the main house.
